Dr. Ughur Aghamaliyev, MD, is a Consultant Visceral Surgeon at LMU University Hospital in Munich, specializing in pancreatic surgery and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. His research, published in leading journals such as the International Journal of Surgery and the European Journal of Cancer, focuses on the application of artificial intelligence in oncological surgery. In 2025, he was awarded the prestigious Johann Nepomuk Nussbaum Prize by the Bavarian Surgical Society for his pioneering scientific contributions, advancing both surgical innovation and translational oncology to improve patient outcomes. His translational research focuses on the clinical prediction and management of postoperative pancreatic fistula, as well as on the biological pathomechanisms underlying its development. Dr. Aghamaliyev is an active member of the German, European, and international pancreas societies.
