Dr. Riccardo Pellegrini graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Verona in 2022 with the highest degrees and laude. In the same year, he began his residency in General Surgery at the University of Padua, joining the Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic, and Liver Transplant Surgery Unit. His main clinical and research interests focus on pancreatic and hepatobiliary diseases, with particular attention to preneoplastic pancreatic lesions and vascular resections in pancreatic surgery. In 2023, he received the Best Poster Awarding Institution recognition at the 16th European Digestive Surgery Postgraduate Course for his study on the application of mesenterico-portal resections in pancreatic adenocarcinoma, bridging pancreatic and transplant surgery. Since January 2025, Dr. Pellegrini has been a Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (Denver, USA), where his work focuses on evaluating the risk of neoplastic progression in intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMNs) to improve patient stratification and management strategies.
