Philipp Putze is a PhD candidate at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), where he develops computational and deep learning methods to study tumor ecosystems using single-cell and spatial transcriptomics. His research focuses on understanding how oncogenic signaling shapes the cellular organization of pancreatic cancer by integrating large-scale multi-modal datasets, spatial profiling, and machine learning. His work spans atlas-scale analysis, multimodal data integration, and the development of novel computational approaches for deciphering complex tissue architecture. Before joining TUM, he completed his Master’s degree in Multidisciplinary Research in Experimental Sciences through a joint project at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) and the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), where he investigated the earliest stages of pancreatic cancer development using single-cell transcriptomics.
