Nelson J. Dusetti is a Research Director at INSERM and Head of the Translational and Therapeutic Target Research in Pancreatic Cancer team at the Centre de Recherche en Cancérologie de Marseille (CRCM), France. He also serves as Co-Director of the TRANSLATE-IT Department at CRCM.
His research focuses on pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), with particular emphasis on tumour heterogeneity, mechanisms of therapeutic resistance, predictive biomarkers, and precision oncology. Over the past decade, his group has developed large collections of patient-derived models, including organoids, primary cultures, and xenografts, integrated with multi-omics datasets to better understand PDAC biology and treatment response.
He has contributed to the development of transcriptomic signatures designed to personalize chemotherapy selection for patients with pancreatic cancer. These signatures are currently being evaluated in prospective clinical trials.
