Jony van Hilst

Dr. Jony van Hilst is a surgical resident and post-doctoral researcher at Amsterdam UMC, specializing in hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery. Her research draws on collaborations across multiple countries and territories, with an extensive publication record on minimally invasive pancreatic surgery. She is currently leading the SPLENDID study, focusing on spleen preservation in patients with left-sided pancreatic cancer, for which she received the research prize of the Dutch Society for Gastroenterology (NVGE). In 2018, Jony received a UEG Week Top Abstract Prize, and this year has been named a UEG Rising Star. Jony also serves as Associate Editor of the journal HPB. In December, she will begin an HPB fellowship at Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, deepening her expertise in hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery.
