Inês Ramos
Dr. Inês Ramos is a Research Associate at the Champalimaud Foundation's Tissue Immunity Lab in Lisbon, Portugal. She completed her degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology at Universidade Nova de Lisboa before earning her PhD in Medical Sciences from the Academic Medical Center (AMC) in Amsterdam. She subsequently advanced her academic trajectory through two postdoctoral traineeships followed by an Assistant Professor position at the Center for Translational Immunology at UMC Utrecht, specializing in inhibitory receptor biology in the group of Prof. Dr. Linde Meyaard. Her research operates at the intersection of tumor immunology, matrix biology, and stromal-immune crosstalk. Dr. Ramos pioneered work identifying the collagen receptor LAIR-1 as a key suppressor of anti-tumor immunity, uncovering how extracellular matrix remodeling actively governs immune cell function. Her current program focuses on how cancer-associated fibroblasts reshape the tumor microenvironment to construct immunoregulatory niches that drive disease progression and therapeutic resistance.
