Greg Sacks
Greg Sacks, MD, MPH, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Surgery at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and a surgical oncologist in the Division of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery at NYU Langone Health. His clinical practice includes pancreatic, liver, and biliary malignancies, with particular interests in pancreatic cancer, pancreatic cystic neoplasms, and robotic surgery. Dr. Sacks studies how to improve clinical decisions for patients with pancreatic disease, particularly intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMNs). Supported by an NIH/NCI K08 Career Development Award, his research combines outcomes analysis, decision modeling, and assessment of patient preferences to guide the choice between pancreatic resection and surveillance. His work examines how cancer risk, surgical outcomes, and individual priorities can inform treatment recommendations. Through this research and his clinical practice, he seeks to improve pancreatic cancer prevention and support informed, individualized care.
