George Zogopoulos is Professor of Surgery and Oncology at McGill University, a hepato-pancreato-biliary and transplant surgeon at the McGill University Health Centre, and a scientist at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre and the Rosalind and Morris Goodman Cancer Institute. His clinical practice focuses on the surgical management of pancreatic, biliary, and hepatic malignancies, as well as abdominal organ transplantation and transplant oncology. His translational research program applies genomics, molecular profiling, and preclinical models to improve the prevention, early detection, and treatment of pancreatic and biliary tract cancers. He leads and contributes to several national and international precision-oncology, hereditary cancer, and pancreatic cancer surveillance initiatives. His research has helped advance germline genetic testing, surveillance of individuals at increased risk of pancreatic cancer, comprehensive tumour profiling, and biomarker-guided treatment strategies. His overarching goal is to translate biological discoveries into earlier diagnosis and more personalized care for patients and families affected by pancreaticobiliary cancers.
