Dr. Elena Rangelova, MD, PhD, FACS is a senior pancreatic surgeon at Sahlgrenska University Hospital/University of Gothenburg, Sweden, with main clinical and research focus surgical treatment of locally advanced pancreatic cancer. PI of clinical trials ADVANTAGE, INVICTA, SINISTRA, VENUS, etc.

Received surgical training and PhD degree at Karolinska Hospital/Institute (Sweden); HPB fellowship in Adelaide (Australia). Harvard Medical School (Surgical Leadership Program’25). Dr. Murray Brennan international scholar of the American College of Surgeons (2019).

Dr. Rangelova is a coordinator of the first European Multi-societal evidence-based guideline on pancreatic cancer. Ass. editor for EJSO, HPB group of the Education and Training Committee of ESSO, organizing advanced training courses on the surgical treatment of pancreatic cancer; an ISGPS member, Mentor in the E-AHPBA mentor program, BJS/BJS Open Associate Editorial Board, former coauthor of Swedish National Programs for treatment of periampullary cancer, regional cancer care coordinator and SSPAC board member.
